  4. Dear Richard,
What a great privelige it has been to learn under your direction for the past ten days at McGregor Summer School. Australia is extremely fortunate to benefit from your generous involvement. It is with joy and respect that I look forward to our next meeting.

  5. Dear Mr. Evans:

I recently had the great pleasure to watch you conduct the Brass Band of Battle Creek for a second time. Your wit and ability played equal parts in my enjoyment of this fine performance. Your reading from the "little book" about the confusion over a WC was delightful. Thanks very much for sharing that. Perhaps one day you'll let us in on the title of that volume of yours so we can read for ourselves a bit of that wry humour!

All best until you brave the Michigan weather and join us once more in Battle Creek~

A devoted American fan of yours (plaid trousers and all),
    Michele Trevathan

  6. Hello Richard !
How are you? It's a long Time ago, when I spent some Days at Leuyland Band with my Friend Martin. I played Cornet and He the Soprano. At that Time, Alan Wicherley and Russell Gray played in the Band and it was a Great! Since 20 Years, I play Euphonium and Baritone. I play first Baritone at the Wallberg-Band. A Band, who Russell conducted until last Year and we won the Swiss Open Brass Band Championship in 2005. This Year, Garry Cutt is our Conductor.
Perhaps, I will hear something from you.........I wish you all the Best!
    Hans

  8. Thank you for everything that you did for me in the Brass Band at McGregor Summer School 2010, I learnt a lot from you and come away from the camp a better player because of that. I had a lot of fun experiencing brass bands for the first time and learning great songs. The CD of the band playing has been on repeat at my house. Thank you.

  10. Thank you very much for imparting some of your wisdom (and anecdotes!) last week at the YHBBA Conducting Course. I managed to put some of that information into practice yesterday with the University of York Brass Band.

  12. Richard

Chris Popperwell, Bass trombone with the Golden State British Brass Band. Last nights rehearsal was a complete joy. You provided us with a wonderful new perspective towards making music and brass banding. I went to work with a new energy and my students never knew what hit them.

    Thanks again for your visit.

  13. Mr. Evans,

1st horn player in the GSBBB here, I wanted to reiterate what a phenomenal pleasure and privilege it was to work with you last night! Your energy and excellent musicianship had us playing better than I thought possible. I can honestly say that I've never enjoyed a rehearsal-in ANY musical group-as much as I enjoyed last night's rehearsal! Thank you so much!

  14. Richard,

It was an absolute delight to have you work with the GSBBB yesterday evening. Your expectation from the "podium" acheived immediate results, and your jovial demeanor made us instant friends. Thank you for a great night of music making. I will remember the 3 M's working with my own music program.

    Thanks again,
    Josh (Baritone)
